Parents should be allowed to be as engaged as they deem necessary when it comes to the educational experiences of their children. They should be able to work with the teachers and administrators of the school to establish reasonable choices of learning for their child with consideration of the resources available. Parents should also take advantage of working with the school system to help their child in the learning process both in school and at home. Parents should help their child become successful by working with their child, reading to their child, and monitoring their homework assignments for proper understanding. Parents should seek assistance when they see their child falling behind or not completely understanding the work being taught. Educating children is a "two-way street" between parents and teachers to promote better educated children.
We are an advocacy organization promoting the rights of parents within our public schools.
We are committed to valuing students, empowering parents, and supporting communities to secure great education in America. While our voices come from a variety of backgrounds and political beliefs, we are united by our belief that education is fundamental to our children, and it should be a safe, constructive environment in order for them to grow and prosper.
As parents, we have the legal right to direct our children’s education and Advocacy for Education is here to make sure the Supreme Court’s decision to give us those rights is continually upheld. We recognize the rights of parents to speak for their children and reject the idea that a massive unrelated public bureaucratic system has any right to indoctrinate our children with extreme fringe politics.
We support the role of education in teaching core skills and reject the dangerous obsession to force extreme sexualization and racist doctrine on our children. We are not interested in education usurping our rights as parents and undermining our family roles within our community.
Advocacy for Education strives for the return of community values being properly represented and reflected in school policies without the current trend of coercion and reprisal. We believe families are the most important stakeholders in our children’s education and parents voices matter.
Our mission is to ensure that public schools are safe environments for all students, inspiring and uniting all students as scholars. Parents expect their children to attend school to learn academics, not be politically activated.
We are here to help give parents the tools that will help them stand with us.
Politicalization of Education
Advocacy for Education opposes the politicization of school curricula. By law, public schools are to remain politically neutral/unbiased, but increasingly, schools are utilizing material derived from Marxist doctrine. Schools are embedding political ideology into core subjects, such as writing and math, or abandoning fundamental educational subjects and redirecting time and resources to teaching radical ideologies, such as critical race theory. The result of such doctrine in schools is anti-American, anti-white, and anti-capitalist sentiments amongst students. K – 12 schools are treated as political activist centers instead of places for learning and critical thinking.
Viewpoint Discrimination
Advocacy for Education defends all students’ First Amendment right. Students should respect one another, and bullying toward anyone should not be tolerated. We stand for diversity of thought for all students in public schools. Unfortunately, the extreme focus on LGBTQ initiatives, systemic racism, and other politicized issues has created backlash against some students. Many students are marginalized and threatened for holding beliefs that do not align with this radical ideology. Students have the right to exercise their First Amendment, even when their speech offends others.
Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)
Advocacy for Education disavows CSE in schools. CSE surpasses providing students with information on protecting themselves during sexual acts and pushes radical gender and sexual ideology onto children beginning in kindergarten. Inspired by Planned Parenthood, CSE aims to change traditional sexual and gender norms in society. It promotes the idea minors are “sexual beings” and provides in-depth graphics and instructions on sexual actings, including anal and oral sex, mutual masturbation, and sexuality lifestyle “options.” CSE is medically inaccurate and lies to children about biological reality.
Radical Gender Ideology
Advocacy for Education opposes sexualizing children by exposing them to gender ideology. Gender ideology includes discussing students’ “gender- identity,” pronouns, hormone therapy, or sex change medical procedures. Schools host drag queen events, change students’ pronouns on official school documents, refer to students by different names and pronouns, and provide them with sex change hormones, all without parental knowledge or consent. Children as young as kindergarten are taught gender ideology through a partnership between educational and medical establishments.
Student Safety and Privacy
Advocacy for Education supports students’ safety and privacy. In that effort, we oppose allowing students into bathrooms, or gender-specific areas, that do not correspond to their biological sex. Across our nation, there have been instances of male students who identify as female but have intact male genitalia, exposing themselves to female students. In addition, female students have been attacked by male students who identify as female in bathrooms and locker rooms. Schools need to ensure all students are safe, and the best way to do that is to require all students to use the bathroom that corresponds to their biological sex.
Providing Medical Services and Collecting Student Information without Parental Consent
School-Based Health Clinics (SBHCs) have enabled schools to act outside their purview. State statutes allow SBHCs to provide students health care and medical services, including abortion and vaccines, without parental knowledge or consent. In addition, schools offer “school climate” surveys. These climate surveys assess students’ physical, mental, emotional, and social factors. One of the most prevalent climate surveys used was created by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) to assess schools’ curricula for LGBTQ+ inclusivity and student clubs based on sexuality, such as Gender and Sexuality Alliances (GSAs). Once again, parental consent is often not required before schools administer such surveys.
